Flat price instead of per-gigabyte billing
Object storage is billed by the gigabyte every month, and restoring large volumes can add egress fees on top. A storage server costs the same every month however full it is, and restores cost nothing extra. Past a few terabytes, it is usually the cheaper option.
Keep the backup in the right country
A backup is still personal data. If your primary systems must stay in the EU, so must the copies. Choose a storage server in a different EU country from your production servers so a regional incident does not take out both.
Common setups are Veeam, Proxmox Backup Server, restic or Borg repositories, MinIO for S3-compatible storage, and Nextcloud for file sharing.

Are the drives in RAID?
Drives are delivered as individual disks. Configure RAID 1, 5, 6 or 10 at install time, or ask for it with the order.
Is there a fee for restoring data?
No per-GB fees. Each listing shows its port speed and monthly traffic allowance.
